Luxury architecture with bold geometry and a sensory experience
La Piedra is a luxury residence featuring 7,400 ft² of interior space and over 16,200 ft²of site development, conceived as a disruptive architectural piece overlooking the Guatapé reservoir.
This project was designed as a spatial expression of its owner’s personality: bold, exclusive, and unconventional. The proposal is based on a daring geometry that breaks away from the traditional architecture of its surroundings, creating a distinctive, exotic, and memorable identity.
Architectural Design
The residence is composed of three levels organized into two triangular volumes connected by a glass tunnel that becomes the project’s most iconic feature. This element articulates circulation and frames views toward the reservoir, integrating landscape, water, and architecture into a sculptural composition that continuously engages with its surroundings.
High-End Entertainment
The project was conceived as a residence for leisure and social living. It includes a recording studio, a beach-style lounge area with bar, wine cellar, BBQ area, jacuzzis, steam rooms, outdoor showers, a billiards area, and spacious bedrooms. Each space was designed with a clear intention, maintaining a consistent formal and material language throughout the home.
Water as a Central Element
An interior stream with koi fish flows through the main social areas, bringing movement and freshness to the spatial experience. The direct connection to the reservoir through a private dock, along with the integration of the beach area, establishes water as the conceptual and experiential core of the project.
Sophisticated Interior Design
The interior design combines contemporary luxury with strategically incorporated natural and rustic elements. Materials, textures, and lighting highlight the project’s geometry and create sophisticated yet warm atmospheres, maintaining a high level of detail in both social and private areas.
Landscape-Integrated Site Design
With over 16,200 ft²of exterior intervention, the project integrates landscape design, circulation, and gathering spaces that enhance the arrival and living experience. The constant relationship with the water and the natural topography establishes an iconic residential project that goes beyond traditional housing.
